Xmas is just around the corner but do you feel the Xmas spirit? For some reason I dont! Sad but true. All the Xmas decors are up, I can feel the cold breeze all through out the day, listening to Xmas songs, Xmas gifts under the tree...yes all that is evident in my day to day life. But somehow I still cant feel the Xmas spirit. Maybe its because of the current situation of our economy --- hard times or maybe its because of the personal struggles people close to me are going through. I dont know! It makes me think --- is Xmas really just for Children? I dont want to believe that though. It shouldn't be right? Because Xmas is for everybody. The funny thing is, its not only me who doesn't feel it. I have friends who feel the same way and even hubby. :-(
I hope this feeling will change when Xmas comes....

Long Time No Post
Its been over a month since my last post and a lot has happened.
My hubby and I arrived from our US trip last November 7. We had a blast --- most especially my hubby. It was his first time in the US so he was like a kid exploring new things and I am happy that we were able to explore this new adventure of his together. It was a long overdue honeymoon! We missed our dog (Chase) terribly! He is one of the main reasons why we felt homesick and wanted to go home already towards the end of our vacation. Hehe!
When I went back to work I was like floating --- hang over from that long vacation that I had (semi-work also). But after a week everything started to kick in. Now, I am so busy with all the projects that are assigned to me so this long weekend is something I was really looking forward to. Hehe..to think I just got back like two weeks ago. :-)
I've already started with my Xmas shopping just last weekend. Hopefully I can finish everything by next week. Have you guys started with your Xmas shopping? But you know what? Up to now I still cant feel the Xmas spirit. Does it come with age? Maybe! A friend of mine said maybe its because of all the gastos and Xmas is really for kids but I beg to disagree. Oh well...
Missed blogging...until my next blog! :-)

I am thankful!!!
I am thankful because...
It was a long needed talk...until 5AM! There may be a lot going on right now --- but at the end of if all, it is still the both of us that will be helping each other. No matter what happens!
I am thankful because...
We were able to understand each other more, we were able to express ALL our thoughts and feelings without hesitation.
I am thankful because...
We have each other! :-) I thank God everyday for blessing me with someone like you!

Sad and Happy News
I just finished having lunch and watched the news on Q-TV with my father in law. There were two news reports that struck my emotions.
The news report that made me sad --- A fetus was found in a box that was left by some lady who took the bus and got off along EDSA. The box was discovered by the bus driver and turned it over to the MMDA. I had a similar post about a fetus found somewhere months ago. This kind of news really makes me mad not sad! Here I am (and other women too) wanting to have a baby and some women opt to have theirs aborted. What is wrong with them? Dont they know how blessed they are? I can say so much about this issue but I just leave it up to God. For me abortion is really the WRONG way to go!!!
On the happier side, the news that made me smile, was a woman who gave birth to quadruplets. Aint that great? Though the babies are not in stable condition and the parents are worried on how they will raise their children given the financial status they are in. But despite that they are really happy with this blessing they received from God. :-) I am sure God will take care of them.
If you may notice issues or news about babies affects me in a big way...well this is basically the reason why I started blogging. Because I want to share with people every little step my husband and I are taking until the time comes we are blessed with our own angel.
So for those who are expecting or have kids already...be thankful and you are all very blessed.
As my friends would say, when their kids were born, blessings just come unexpectedly. Children are truly a blessing and they are the future!

Cofee Break ver 1.35
This is my answer to Jan's coffee break...thanks Jan!
I am a strong believer in the power of prayer. In a persons life, each of us go through our own personal trials or struggles. But but how do we all deal with it? Again, we all have our own personal way of handling everything but I must say a common denominator is prayer. Whatever religion you believe in or you may have --- prayer is still the key to all our hardships.
After going through two miscarriages, it really tore me apart. I didnt know what to do or believe in. At the start I didnt understand why this was happening or what God was trying to convey. It was during my second miscarriage when I really felt broken --- such a heartbreaking experience for me at a certain point I just stopped praying. I'd have all these questions in my head and with my selfish ways --- I needed or demanded answers right away! One day after my D&C, I was at home resting, flowers were delievered to my house. It came from one of my best friends from college. The fowers were so colorful and bright, it really cheered me up. I will never forget that. This gesture made a big difference to what I was feeling at that time. Because of those flowers I realized how blessed I am. How lucky I am to have a very supportive husband, loving family and to have the best of the best of friends a girl could ever have. The same day I received the flowers, I started praying again. This time I wasnt praying to get pregnant again but for God to give me and Gin the strength to face the challenges that comes along with my difficulty in getting pregnant, the wisdom to understand all that has happened or will happen and of course forgiveness.
Months have passed and it was only recently that I understood what His reasons might be. This is because of the power of prayer. My belief and faith --- not to give up is what I am holding on to now. Everything happens for a reason. We may not get answers right away but in time He will make use understand eventually. He has bigger and better plans for us. We just have to be patient.
This is something I live by each day, "Do What You Can. Dont Give Up. Let God Surprise You." --- by Bo Sanchez Hope this is something all of you can also keep in mind. :-)

Confused
Confused. This is the word that describes what I feel right now.
Priorities in life change when you get married...I know. Although sometimes there are certain things that you cannot ignore or not do but at the same time you need to think it over a number of times before you actually engage yourself in the act.
In life, you have a number of people that you hold close to your heart. How do you balance things when the time comes that a certain person or group needs your help? You know helping another person is something you are more than willing to do especially if it is a loved one. The question is, what are the boundaries? Given the fact that you have a different set of priorities because of the new life you have but you dont want to see them having a hard time or see them sad? Do I sound confused or what?
Yes, I need to think things over and from there determine if I can or I cannot...

Finally
Finally I get to blog again!!!
Its been crazy at work because of a new development that happened last month. Anyway, I've been looking forward to this long weekend and the next long weekend. Just for the simple reason that I get to rest and spend more time with hubby.
So what has happened during the past weeks? For me, its just been work, work and work! Every time I get home from work I am always dead tired. Like last Friday, after eating dinner, I fell asleep still wearing my office clothes. Hehe! Good thing I woke up at around 1am to freshen up and change to sleeping clothes. Oh and we were able to book our flight already. Yey! We're leaving on October 14. Gin and I are so excited!!!
Anyway, its the wedding of one of my good friends from work today. I have to get ready. Will blog again soon... :-)

Being Married
Married life...it is indeed bittersweet! Why so?
When you fight and then make up --- making up for me is the best part! Calling your hubby's attention when he forgets to hang the towel after taking a bath, picking up after your hubby, whenever he says "babe ang kulit mo!" but realizes at the end what your point is. He really tests your patience but at the end of the day you cannot stand being mad or away from him. Weird huh? Is this what they call LOVE? I guess so. Not only accepting the persons good side but also his flaws. To love the complete package!
I am sure for each married couple, they have their own story to tell. All our stories are different one way or another. But a common denominator (I believe) is that the wife is the pillar and strength of every family. Don't you think so? I can say this because based on my experiences and my friends stories...its really the woman who keeps hold of everything. May it be handling the household, husband and wife troubles, children, keeping values intact, etc. But please don't get me wrong, our husbands play a big role also in this equation. Where would we be without them right? Its just amazing on how a woman can multi task things in her life. Family, work, her social life, personal stuff (going to the parlor, shopping, etc) and of course God.
My hubby and I don't have a perfect marriage --- who does? But I will not trade what we have for anything. Marriage is not an easy ride but we constantly are learning from each other and it has been great! As my mom says, we've got a long way to go, a lot to learn and discover and I welcome this challenge with open arms. My hubby is what makes me whole and our imperfections makes us love each other more each day! :-)

My Project
I've been mentioning in my blogs that work has been keeping me really busy these past few weeks or should I say month. Well, its because of this project. This is also the reason why I am leaving for the US this October. Basically this event will kick off this July 27 and will have a series of roadshows up to September and the main event will happen in October.
There is still things that I have to do --- which is kind of stressing me out already. But its all good! Thats how it is I guess!

Random Q's
I was tagged by Sheryll. Thanks! :-)
The rules are simple. At the end of the post, the player tags 6 people and posts their names, then goes to their blog and leaves a comment, letting them know they’ve been tagged and asking them to read your blog. Let the person who tagged you know when you’ve posted your answer.
1. What was I doing 10 years ago? I was still in college...on my fourth year.
2. What are the 5 things on my to-do list today?
- meet with the writer for the PR of our event
- follow up some suppliers
- meeting, meeting , meeting
- exercise at home -- hip hop abs! Yeah..hehehe!
- sleep early
3. Snacks I enjoy: oreo cookies and chips
4. Place where I lived: QC, Alabang and now in Pque
5. Things I’d do if I were a billionaire:
buy a house and lot for me and gin, my parents and parents in law, buy a range rover, donate some to charity and share some money with my siblings, travel to europe and save some in the bank.
6. People I want to know more: Jan, Nikki and Tracy

Whats up?
As usual, its been busy at work for me. I havent been updating my blog if you would notice. Now I have a chance...
Anyway, we had our interview yesterday at the US Embassy (me, Gin and my MIL) and we passed! Yipee!!! The interview lasted only for two minutes and we were waiting for more than 2 hours. It was worth the wait! We are leaving for the US this October. One is because of work --- I have to attend an event my company is producing (since this is my project too) and at the same time I was able to convince Gin to go on a vacation with me since I am there already --- might as well take the opportunity. Our long overdue honeymoon and well deserved break! I am so excited for Gin because its his first time to go to the US and our first time to travel out of the country together. This has been my dream for him or should I say one my wishes that we will travel to the US together and now its almost coming true. Almost because we havent bought the ticket yet. Hehehe! Its going to be lots of fun!!! :-) Gin is also excited. He was pessimistic at the start because he was worried about work but now he's showing some excitement already.
With this happening, Gin and I decided to move my treatment to a later date --- later this year that is. Which is okay I guess. We cant afford to take this trip and also spend for my treatment. The treatment doesnt come cheap. At first I felt sad, because I really wanted to go through LIT already. I am hoping and praying that I can get pregnant again this year after completing the treatment but there is a reason for everything. Maybe God wants us to take this chance to spend quality time together and get to experience being in another country before having a baby. Which I suppose we cannot really do freely once we have our baby. Also, its a privilege for me to be sent by my company and represent them in this event.
What did I realize here? "I cant have my cake and eat it too!" I think God is trying to tell me that there should be a balance with all the things that are happening in my life. One wish at a time and I am not complaining... :-)
Patience
Yesterday was a long day for me at work. With all the things I have to do plus the fact that I am in the "pre-its just one of those days" stage --- I can get ticked off easily. Know what I mean girls? I am sure most of you have had encounters with co-workers wherein you dont meet eye to eye. This is normal in any office environment or in any kind of organization for that matter. Well, that encounter happened to me yesterday. Hayyy, I was really irritated! As much as I wanted to control what I was going to say, sorry but I couldnt help myself! Hey I am only human. It wasnt really a big issue or there was a big arguement or what so ever. It was just simply voicing out my thoughts because for me that person wasnt being respectful in a professional level. Though at the end being the softhearted person that I am, I took the initiative of pacifying things because I didnt want to have any bad blood with anyone in the office. Even if I know I was the one that was offended. We are part of one organization and we will still be working together on future projects. I told this person : "trabaho lang walang personalan".
Oh well, so much for that!
Gin is working on a new project. Its almost done actually but for the past week, we havent really had q.t. together. Since construction in the malls is done after mall hours --- he usually gets home early in the morning already. When I get home from work, he's about to leave already. Then when I am about to wake up for work, thats when he is about to go to sleep. I feel sad because I miss him so much! Hopefully this weekend we can get to spend more time together since he's done with that project and before he starts with the new one.
Patience is indeed a virtue.

Moment of Truth
I was tagged by Tracy! Thanks girl! :-)
Are you deeply in love with your spouse or boyfriend/girlfriend? If you do, let's try how well you remember the moment of your life with him. But before you put yourself in the hot seat please read the rules of this tag first.
RULES: 1. This tag should be pass on to your friends. 2. Visit the blog of the person you've got this tag. 3. Leave a comment on her/his tag post. Be sure to thank her/him for this tag. 4. Highlight and link all the list of people who accepted this tag by visiting their blog site. 5. There are 10 questions that you need to answer but you will be the one to write the 10th question for the next person you want to pass this tag.
Here are the questions. Be honest with your answers.
1. How did you meet your husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend?
- Gin and I knew each other since HS because his sister was my batch mate. So I'd get to hang out with his sister and their other brother whose older than both of them. Even up to college I would see him around because he'd be picking up his sister and ex-gf since we were all going to the same college. But for me, no sparks flew because I was in a relationship at that time. It was when I started working and I was sort of single already that I started noticing him. We have a lot of common friends actually and it was one of my good friends that told me this shocking revelation...she told me that Gin has had this crush on me since HS!!! Of course I was kilig to death. Hahaha! Then the rest is history :-)
2. Where did you go on your first date?
- We watched Spiderman (the very first one) in ATC and had some drinks in Dencios Alabang
3. When was your first intimate kiss?
- June 22, 2003 in Tagaytay. When I answered him.
4. How many girlfriends/boyfriends he/she had in the past? Do you honestly know?
- He's had 4 ex gf's.
5. What is his/her ethnicity?
- 100% Pinoy.
6. What is his/her favorite food?
- Japanese and Filipino
7. What is he/she like if he/she is mad?
- You better start finding your hiding place once he gets mad.
8. What are the things he/she did you thought is the most romantic thing he'd/she'd ever done?
- He surprised me with a Japanese dinner in their house during Valentines.
9. Describe how he/you proposed to you.
- It wasnt really that romantic. We were already planning for our wedding even before he gave me the ring. It was January 2006. We were going to make salubong my birthday. After dinner we went to Cafe Adriatico in Alabang. It was almost the eve of my bday, the waiter puts two blow jobs on our table. I was like "whats this?". He says "lets drink...lapit na bday mo!". I was like "I dont want to drink!". But he insisted that I do...so I did. I took the shot without even looking at the shot glass. Then he says that my glass is not yet empty. My face was "huh?" So I look at the shot glass...and there was the ring!
10. Was it easy for you to adjust during your first few months of being married?
My answer to Tracy's question: Same as Tracy, I have to pick up after Gin. To keep on reminding him about stuff.

Busy. Busy. Busy
Its been so busy for me at work. Everytime I get home --- I am dead tired! Though I was able to rest during the weekend. One because of the storm and I really had no where to go to. I was home alone almost the whole day of Saturday (with the maid and Chase). Hubby had to work and my parents in law were out.
Speaking of storm Frank, my gosh...I thought there was going to be another Millenio moment since the intesity of the storm was almost the same or should I say was the same as Millenio's. Since we didnt have electricity early morning Sunday, I thought it was going to be like during Millenio when for how many days there wasnt any electricity. Good thing that didnt happen again! But sad there were quite a number of tragedies that happened because of the storm. :-( God bless their souls!
Anyway, thats it for now. Til my next blog... :-)

Blood Screening Results
I called PGH yesterday and asked about our blood screening results and everything is A-OK! Yay!!! :-) Thank you God!
Our next step is to schedule the 1st session of the Lymphocite Immunization Therapy already with my Immunologist. LIT should be done thrice --- once a month with the same interval each month. Although we can only try again after the second session.
I'm quite excited and scared at the same time...hopefully this works for us!

A morning quote
I got this morning quote from one of my cousin-in-laws. It is something that helped me get through my "ka-praningan" this morning. Let me share it with you...
For those who are waiting for something or seeking answers...hope this message helps you in one way or another. As the song goes... "In His time...He makes all things beautiful in His time!"
"God seldom does great things in a hurry.
So let us wait patiently.
True patience means awaiting God's time without doubting God's love!"

Blood Screening
How did my morning go?
First, I didnt wake up on time for my morning exercise which is okay because I can do it when I get home from work later. I had half of the grilled cheese sandwich my MIL prepared for breakfast then did my morning rituals. I woke Gin up at exactly 7AM because we had to leave the house before 8 for PGH to have our blood screening. After getting ready, Gin was going to heat up the car already but guess what? It didnt want to start. At that point I didnt want to get superstitious and all but I couldnt help it. I was thinking to myself "is this a sign that we cant have a baby?" I actually was tearing up. But I had to be strong and just brush off that thought. No negative vibe is allowed! Finally, the mechanic of Gins brother arrived and fixed the problem of the car. Phew!!! We were able to leave the house a little past 8 which was still okay.
Anyway, hubby and I had to go to PGH for our blood screening because we both have to be cleared of the following before we can undergo LIT:
For Gin:
CBC
HIV
HbsAg
Anti HCV
Malarial Smear
VDRL
Anti Hbs
For me:
HbsAg
Anti Hbs
For Gins blood screening, PGH has a package that costs P1,200. This includes everything except for Anti Hbs which costs only P165. As for mine, the HbsAg costs P150 and the Anti Hbs costs P165. Their rates are not bad at all compared to the rates of Asian Hospital. When we inquired with Asian as to how much the blood screening is going to cost --- it reached P8k! Can you believe the big difference? Good thing my Immunologist recommended PGH.
We might get the results by Friday. Hopefully, the results will turn out okay so that we can proceed with the treatment already.
So I guess, having our blood screening was really meant to happen today despite the obstacles with the car this morning. Thank you Lord!!! :-)

Do's and Dont's to a Childless Couple
Something I got from Ivy...
* Don't ask a childless person when they are going to have a child. They may be going through the process of trying to conceive but have not yet achieved success. Asking them only reminds them of their problem. They need no extra reminders.
* Don't relate stories of your fertility to them. Hearing "my husband just has to look at me and I get pregnant" is very annoying. While well-meaning, the statement is insensitive.
* Don't give advice such as "just relax," "you are trying too hard" or "take a cruise." All of these very common comments imply that the couple has control of their fertility. Most of the time, these couples have absolutely no control over their fertility. Implying control leads to feelings of failure and guilt when this advice doesn't work.
* Don't offer advice such as sexual timing, position, herbal medications or other totally unproven therapies. There are literally hundreds of old-wife's-tails that, when followed, can drive an infertile patient nearly crazy. Their physician will have covered those natural aspects of their care that may maximize their chances for conception. Once again, please to not imply that they have a sense of control.
* Don't express your derogatory personal opinions regarding insemination procedures, test-tube babies or adoption. Sometimes, these are their only hope for having a child. These are your opinions and uninvited advice is rarely neither desired nor constructive. You are absolutely entitled to your opinion, simply keep it your own. If they ask for your advice, then feel free to state your opinions, but do so in a kind and considerate manner.
* Don't place blame by accusing the couple of exercising too much, eating the wrong foods or drinking alcohol. These couples may already be blaming themselves. Their physician will have already covered the medical and reproductive consequences of obesity, smoking, alcohol and recreation drugs. Support them in the cessation of these activities and minimize the guilt associated with their consumption. The guilt rarely leads to cessation but often moves the individual to increased consumption.
What You Can Say and Do...
* Do provide couples with plenty of emotional support by saying "It must be difficult to go through this" and "I'm here to listen if you need to talk."
* Do remember that men can be just as emotional about the problem, sometimes even more so. They may feel their masculinity is at risk.
* Do understand the couple's need for privacy.
* Do try to understand that if they are your employees, frequent doctor's appointments may be necessary during business hours. Please try to accommodate them as much as possible. Not doing so may also be construed as a form of discrimination and place you at legal risk.
* Do understand why they may not make it to a baby shower or a holiday event. These frequent events can become overwhelming for an infertile couple.
* Do tell the infertile couple that there is hope.
* Don't ask a childless person when they are going to have a child. They may be going through the process of trying to conceive but have not yet achieved success. Asking them only reminds them of their problem. They need no extra reminders.

At Work
I am tired. Not tired of what I am doing...just generally tired.
For the past few days or should I say weeks have been very busy for me. I have noticed that I am looking forward even more to the weekends. If you are part of my YM list...my status usually would be LOOKING FORWARD TO THE WEEKEND even before this busy-ness of mine started. But do not get me wrong here, I really enjoy what I am doing and I love my job but I guess its just the work load that I have now because of this event I am putting up. Though I am also excited at the same time because this is something big and new for our team. So I have been really focused on putting things in order for it to be a success. I am OC like that! :-P
Because of this event, I might or I will be sent to the US by the company because the event will be held there which makes it more exciting! I told hubby that he should go with me already and make this our long overdue honeymoon --- 100x exciting! Hehehe!
Anyway, I need to get back to work. Just wanted to de-focus for a few minutes. :-)

My Sunday Afternoon
My Sunday afternoon.
Its exactly 2:40PM and we were supposed to hear mass this morning but Gin and his dad didnt wake up early. I prefer hearing mass in the morning so that we have the whole afternoon to do whatever. So to kill time, what did I do? I fixed my closet, made our bed, arranged my clothes, surfed the net and now writing this blog.
I asked our dirver to set up the Glider which Gin hasnt used for a looong time. Why did I have it set up? Because I really need to lose weight. My weight now --- its depressing already. Not only that, I need exercise --- this is for health reasons. I just want to start being active again and not feel so lumpy all the time and maybe it will reduce the back pains I feel every now and then. After mass later, I will get on that Glider and burn those fats away. Hehehe!!! I have to stop postponing this and start exercising now!!!
What else happened in the past few hours? Hmmmm...Gin gave Chase a bath. Finally!!! But you know, Chase doesnt smell like a dog even if he hasnt take a bath for like a week. He doesnt have the stinky smell. I think its because of the dog food. We give him table food once in a while but I dont want him to get used it. Anyway, what else, what else? Do I sound bored? hehehe... Well, Gin is busy playing with his PSP. I am starting to hate that darn thing. Sometimes I wish I didnt get that toy for him. Are your hubbys addicted to their PSP's too? Gin would sleep at 3 or even 4am just playing PSP. Oh well! Boys will be boys!!! :-P
Am I still making sense with what I am writing here? I hope so...
I guess thats it for me. Will start getting ready for mass. :-)

Its our baby's 1st bday!
Yes you got that right! We have a baby and its his 1st bday today! Who is this baby I am talking about? Its our doggy Chase --- a male Wirehaired Dachshund. May 21 is not really his real bday. Since we just adopted him from my nephew and he didn't know the exact date he was born. All he could tell us was that he was born in May. So Gin and I decided to set his bday on the 21st of this month. Why 21? Because we got married December 21. Hehehe!
Chase has played a significant or should I say is playing a significant role in my life and same with Gin. He's not only our pet, he's already part of the family. We treat him like our kid. Believe me when I say that he is one spoiled Dachshund! I am pretty sure all the dog lovers out there don't see their pet dogs as just pets but like us, they are already family. Given the present situation with regards to having a baby, with Chase around its like we already have our own little angel --- in this case it has lots of fur.
I remember Chase was just about 2 months old when we first got him. He was so little but already playful. From day one he was used to sleeping in our room. At first we would layer old towels on the floor and thats where he would usually sleep but as he got older he'd sleep with us on the bed. Now that he is a year old, he has tripled in size and has become more affectionate but still playful or is it super kulit?
Dogs can be like humans too. You can see if they feel bad or when they are happy. For instance, whenever Gin and I get into an arguement and I end up crying, I would see Chase looking at me then a little later he would approach me and start licking my face. Its as if he knows that I am sad.
Having Chase is one of our simplest joys in life. Gin and I miss him whenever we are away. Even if we are both are just at work. When he's sick we super worry. Just like regular parents. What more if we really have our own baby? Gin would even ask me, "paano yan pag may baby na tayo? saan na si chase?" I just told Gin, we will figure it out when we get there.
All I can say is --- I love having Chase around and it was a good move to adopt him from my nephew.
Happy Bday Chasey boy! :-)

Our experience in Obando
Gin and I together with our married friends went to Obando last Saturday. We left the south at 6:30am. Gin and I overslept actually. We were supposed to leave at 6am. Anyway, the trip wasn't so bad. Since it was still early there was no traffic along Edsa. We got to Obando before 9am. The mass was still ongoing and we were all amazed by the number of people that attended. Mostly married couples.
When we got there, we entered first the church and said our prayers. As we waited, we asked the locals which among the three Saints should we follow. One local asked "Ano ba ho ang hiling nyo?" and we said "Magka baby po". Then he told us to follow the float of Santa Clara. So we immediately positioned ourselves near her float. A female local standing near us even shared her story. She danced during this festival years ago and was blessed with not one, not two but 5 kids. How about that? As per this lady, it really works!
May 17 was the feast of San Pascual - saint for good harvest but all three saints were part of the procession. The procession started a little past 9. Good thing the weather was kind of cool. Though it would rain every now and then but it didn't really pour.
We were walking and semi dancing for almost 2 hours and we ended it in the church. This is where all the dancing happened. As the priest would say "Isayaw nyo ang mga hiling nyo!" So we did! The church was packed with people. Each individual asking for their own personal longings --- either to have a baby, good harvest or even a life partner.
As Gin and I were dancing, I would continuously pray for the chance of having our own baby and for all those who are present and are asking for a baby be blessed with one too.
Some people swear by this festival and there are those who don't believe in it. Whatever it is...it doesn't hurt to try and its our faith that keeps us going.
This experience was worth it and I know keeping my faith strong will help me get through all the challenges that will come my way.

Obando Fertility Festival
On Saturday Gin and I are going to the Obando Fertility Festival. This is a yearly event. It is held every May 17 to 19 honoring three Saints --- The Virgin of Salambao, San Pascual and Santa Clara.
I am sure all of you know why Gin and I are going to this festival. But for the benefit of those who don't, couples that are childless go to this festival and take the chance to appeal for heavenly intercession and dance to please the three Saints I mentioned above. Aside from me and Gin, our married friends who are also trying to conceive will be joining us. I was even joking the wife of our friend that I am going to do all the dance steps there is...ala beyonce, rhianna, folk dance, hip hop...what have you! Lahat gagawin ko para magka baby na kami! Hehehe! :-)
I've heard and read stories of couples who attended this festival and we're blessed with a baby. I have to admit, it really gives me more hope and it wont hurt if we try it out right?
Gin has been very supportive and like me, I can see how important it is also for him to attend this festival.
Well til my next blog...I will share with all of you my experience in this festival. I cant wait! :-)

Lymphocyte Immunization Therapy (LIT)
Finally I was able to get the name of the treatment that I need (thanks to a fellow N@Wie)! Its called Lymphocyte Immunization Therapy or LIT for short. If you are wondering what this does, here is a description that I was able to get through Google:
LIT (Lymphocyte Immunization Therapy) - Lymphocyte immune therapy is used in women with recurrent spontaneous abortions. This immunization is made from the father-to-be's blood or sometimes from a donor's blood. It is injected under the skin of the mother's forearm. This is done twice, separated by one month. Testing to see that it has worked is done one month after the second treatment. Common reactions to this treatment include: swelling, irritation, and itching at the injection site. Some women run a fever after this treatment.
Lymphocyte - This is a white blood cell that is in charge of starting antigen specific immunity responses. There are many types of lymphocytes in the immune family. These consist of T cells, B cells, granulocytes, basophils, mast cells, eosiniophils, Natural Killer Cells, etc. Each cell type has a CD designation.
So there you have it. Together with prayers I know we will have our chance!

Blood Test Update
So I went to my Immunologist yesterday to show her the results of my blood test. Most of the results were okay except for two wherein the range was quite high compared to the normal range. The good thing about it is, my case is not as bad as I thought it would be. Phew!!! But it doesn't end there. I have to undergo treatment. Thank God its not the P100K worth of treatment. My Immunologist recommended blood transfusion (there's a term for it, I just forgot what its called...its something therapy). It goes something like this: I need 100 ml of Gins blood and this process needs to be done for 3 months. It may not be as expensive as the P100K treatment but it will still cost us money. Sigh!
As per my Immunologist, after the second blood transfusion, that's the only time we can try again. The purpose of this blood transfusion is to boost up my immune system. Because right now, my immune system thinks that everytime I get pregnant, the baby is something foreign. So my killer cells attack the baby which results to a miscarriage. Sounds complicated huh? When I thought I wouldn't have a difficult time getting pregnant.
What do I feel right now? I am happy and at the same time sad but I just don't want to focus on the negative thoughts anymore but look forward to the possibilities even if its going to be a challenge for us financially and physically for me.
So the next step for us, is to check if Gin is healthy before we undergo the transfusion. If the results are good then we can start with the treatment. Hopefully, by that time we will be financially ready too.
Patience is indeed a virtue. One step at a time. I always have to remember this: "Dont Give Up. Do What You Can. Let God Surprise You."
I know in time we will have our own little angel!

What Am I?
Thanks to Gracey and Jan for tagging me! I am a Slug --- Jan we're the same! :-)
If you are a Slug : Always up to some sort of a mischief! The mischievous gleam in your eyes is what mak e s you so cute and attractive to everyone. You are an extremely fun-to-be-with kind of person. No wonder people seek your company and look forward to include you for all get-together's. However, you are sensitive which is a drawback. People need to select their words while talking to you. If someone tries to fiddle around and play with words while dealing with you, it is enough to invite your wrath. God bless the person then!
LOOK UP YOUR BIRTHDAY AND SEE WHAT YOU ARE. FORWARD ON TO PEOPLE THAT YOU THINK THAT WOULD GET A KICK OUT OF THIS... INCLUDING THE PERSON WHO SENT IT TO YOU. PUT YOUR BIRTHDAY ANIMAL IN THE SUBJECT LINE AND PASS IT ON.
Don't forget to scroll down to see what it says about you.

If you are an Ass : A very loyal and sweet person. Your loyalty can never be doubted. You are quite honest and sincere when it comes to your attitude towards working. You are a very simple person, indeed. Absolutely hassle free, humble, and down-to-earth!! That explains the reason why your friends cling on to you! You have a good taste for clothes. If your wardrobe is not updated with what is trendy, you sure are depressed. Popular and easy-going. You have a little gr! oup of dignified friends, all of them being quality-personified.
If you are a Cockroach : Quite contradictory to your name, you are a peace loving person. You best try to avoid a situation wherein you are required to fight. An outdoor person, you dislike sitting at one place for a long duration. You are a born leader, and have it in you how to tactfull! y deriv e work from people. You love being loved and when you receive your share of limelight from s omeone, you are all theirs!!!! Well, well... Hence some people could even take an advantage, flatter you to the maximum and get their work done. So be careful.....
If you are a Parasite : An extremely lovable, adorable person, sometimes shy, with a passion for quick wit. At times, you prefer quietness. You love exploring various things and going into depth of each thing. Under normal circumstances you're cool but when given a reason to, you are like a volcano waiting to erupt. You're a fashion bird. People look forward to you as an icon associated with fashion. Basically, you mingle along freely but don't like talking much to strangers. People feel very easy in your company. You observe care in choosing your friends.
If you are a Skunk : You are near to perfect and nice at heart! . The e xamples of your kindness are always circulated in groups of people. You, too, love peace. You wouldn't like to retaliate even to a person who is in the wrong. You are loved due to this. You do not wish to talk behind one's back. People love the way you always treat them. You can give, give, and give love, and the best part is that you do not expect it back in return. You are generous enough. Seeing things in a practical light is what remains the best trait of you guys.
If you are a Bullfrog : You symbolize a very happy-go-lucky approach in life. Whatever the surroundings may be, grim or cheerful, you remain unaffected. In fact, you spread cheer wherever you go. You are the leader of your group of fri ends! and go od at consoling pe ople in their times of need. You dislike hypocrisy and tend to shirk away from hypocrites. They can never be in your good books, no matter what. You are very methodical and organized in your work. No amount of mess, hence, can ever encompass you. Beware, it is easy for you to fall in love....
If you are a Snake : You are mysterious. You are someone who can handle pressure with ease, and can handle any atmosphere without going berserk. You can be mean at times, and love to gossip with your selected group. Very prim and proper. You like all situations and things to be in the w! ay you desire, which, sometimes is not possible. As a result, you may lose out in some relationships. But otherwise, you love to help people out from difficult and tight spots when they really need you.
If you are an Ape : Very impatient and hyper!!! You want things to be done as quick as possible. At heart, you are quite simple and love if you are the center of attraction. That way, you people are unique. You would like to keep yourself safe from all the angles. Shall your name be dragged or featured in any sort of a controversy, you then go all panicky. Therefore, you take your precautions from the very beginning. When you foresee anything wrong, your sixth sense is what saves you from falling in traps. Quite a money minded bunch you people are.

I am tagging Nikki and Farrah!

Blood Test
If you would refer to one of my blogs last month, my Immunologist asked me to take another series of blood tests to check if I had the other kinds of blood disorders aside from APAS. Well, this morning I went to PGH and had the blood test. Boy was it expensive!!! Anyway, I will get the results this Friday and then go back to my Immunologist next Saturday to consult her on what should be done so as to avoid having another miscarriage.
Hopefully, after this test and consultation, I can have a successful pregnancy already.

One proud wife..Yes I am!
Yes, I am one proud wife! Why so? Let me share it with you...
My hubby is an Interior Designer/Contractor. He's designed a number of homes and commercial establishments and I have to say, not because he's my husband but he's really good with his craft.
First reason why I am proud is because he finally decided to get an office. My reaction to this? Yipee --- FINALLY!!! In the past, he would usually conduct business in our house which for me was sometimes intrusive --- somewhat invading our privacy because his people would go there and sometimes his suppliers. So you see, when he's at home, his attention is divided which at times saddens me. Before he decided to put up his office, I would often tell him to get one already and he would always say "di pa kaya" or he would postpone the idea. The reason for this is because I wanted him to practice the way of life that whenever he is at home, there will be no work unless he has to draw or he has to discuss something with his dad since his drawing table is at home and we live with our parents in law --- thats fine with me! At least now, no more business transactions at home!
Another reason why I am a proud wife is that one of his projects was featured in the latest Star Studio magazine. He designed and constructed a home of a male celebrity. As his wife, it was a kilig factor for me. Not only did the magazine show pictures of his work but also his name was mentioned in the article. Many thanks to his client who is also a friend of ours!
To my excitement, as soon as I got to the office yesterday and punched in my time card, I stepped out for a while and headed to the nearest 7-11 but they didnt have the latest issue of the mag. That didnt stop me, I went to Watsons which is at the end of the street because I knew they sold that magazine. While walking under the heat of the sun and that was like a 5 minute walk, I was telling myself "the latest issue should be there!" and yes they did have the latest issue! I showed my hubby's work to my officemates --- wanted to make it "yabang" a bit! They all gave the same comment --- the house is really nice! Hope they weren't lying! Hehehe! :-) Because of this article Gin was able to meet with another potential client --- hopefully it will push through.
To Gin my asawa --- I am so proud of you and keep up the good work! Remember I am always here for you and that I love you so much! :-)

To buy or not to buy? --- TO BUY!!!
I posted a blog last month about buying a property or not. Gin and I were choosing between the house of my friend or a condo along Sucat Road near PATTS. After numerous discussions, we finally decided to invest our money in the condo unit. Since for now, that is all we can afford. I haven't seen it but Gin has. Hehehe! He was the one who told me about it. According to him its really nice and it will be a very good investment. We are not going to transfer there but we want to have it rented out. We've already signed the papers today and will give it plus our reservation to the agent tomorrow. Then the agent will be the one in charge to file the papers for the Pag-Ibig housing loan. Once that is approved, Gin will make the down payment and the balance will be coursed through my Pag-Ibig housing loan benefit.
Gin and I are excited and thrilled because this is going to be our first investment. This is something we can really call our own and it was one my goals for this year --- to buy a house (well its a condo now) but at least I can cross that out already. Yipee!!! :-)
Hopefully in time, we will be able to buy a house so that we don't have to keep on renting anymore. Just need to take it one step at a time, Gin and I will achieve our dreams!

No Air
Do you have a favorite song? I am sure all of you do! I've got lots! But right now I am loving this song by Jordin Sparks entitled "No Air" which features Chris Brown. The first time I heard this song was when Jordin Sparks and Chris Brown did a live performance in American Idol. It was instant love for me! Hehehe!
The sound is different. It has a different tune and vibe to it.

Who is your Pinoy hero?
Who is your hero from the Phils?
This was a question that was thrown at the table by our boss during lunch --- Who is your hero from the Phils (at present)? To think that this is a question that we should be able to answer in an instant but it was the opposite!
There were 6 of us having lunch and we were all deep in thought. Thinking as to who we consider as a hero (take note: at present) and this person must be from the Phils. We found it so sad because names didnt come to us in an instant. When as Filipinos we should all have at least one Pinoy hero. It was discussed that if we were asked this question a decade ago...maybe it would be a lot easier to answer. People then were fighting for a cause, the country's welfare. But now? What do our current government officials fight for or do for our country? You sometimes dont event know what their real motive is anymore.
Our boss gave us until we finish the main course to come up with our personal Pinoy hero. Finally, one by one, each of us shared who we think is a hero. Here they are:
1. The founder of Gawad Kalinga --- through this foundation a lot of lives were changed.
2. A Granfather who was part of the Philippine Army during WW II who escaped the Death March and was recruited by the Guerilla unit.
3. Another Grandfather who was put in jail during the Marcos' reign because of his fight against the Marcos government.
4. A fellow student from UPLB who stood up against the corruption of PGMA and her constituents.
5. The frist female President of the Phils --- pursued what her late husband believed in and saved the Phils from tyranny.
6. A bank official who testified against a former president during his impeachment trial.
What is the common denominator of all these people we consider as heroes? Their acts of heroism were done for the country --- for the Filipinos! To save the little integrity our country has left and to give a good or hopefully better future to our children.
Our heroes did not do these things to benefit themselves and this is what heroes should be all about.
It is not to satisfy oneself but to give oneself for another so that everyone will be saved from all the evil in this world. That for me is a hero!

Friends
"My coat and I live comfortably togther. It has assumed all my wrinkles, does not hurt me anywhere, has moulded itself on my deformities, and is complacent to all my movements, and I only feel its presence because it keeps me warm. Old coats and old friends are the same thing." -Victor Hugo
This is a quote a very good friend of mine used to describe the kind of friendship that we have. It is a given fact that a person can have lots of friends (as you could see in someones friendster, myspace or facebook accounts) but you have to agree with me that there are only a few you can really call your TRUE friends (to every letter of the word) --- which at times are very hard to find. Some may form friendships in an instant but for me those with real value are the friendships that have lasted a decaded or so. Wherein you have witnessed each others pains and joys. Despite all the flaws your friends may have, you will still love them for who they are or what they become! Friendship to me is not about quantity but the quality of frienships that you have. How come I have so much to say on what real friendship is all about? Because this is what I hold dear to my heart --- MY BEST FRIENDS!
I consider myself lucky because I have them in my life. Next to God and my family, these are the people that I cannot live without. They are all like sisters to me. A blessing indeed. People who understood me and stood by me at my best and at my worst. Through the years we've all known each other, nothing has changed --- well maybe our marital status, how we view life or do things but they are still the same people that I can run to when I am happy or sad. A treasure in my life that I will never trade for anything else!
For those who can relate to what I am saying --- arent we all lucky to have them in our lives? :-)

Losing Weight, Diet & Exercise
I am sure everyone (male and female - of all ages) have tried to diet, exercise and lose weight once in their life. Because I have! Gin and I used to work out in the gym religiously. Like 3 to 5 times a week. We were addicted to it --- well at least for the whole year of our membership in Fitness First. I guess thinking on how much we paid was the motivating factor. The result was that we both lost weight, firmed up and still eating all our favorite food but in moderation. That's what everyone wants right? I loved attending the classes. My favorite was this class they call Body Jam. Its a mix of different dance steps which will really make you sweat. When our 1 year membership ended, we chose not to renew it anymore because we started to plan for our wedding already and we couldnt afford extra expenses since we were the ones who will be shouldering all the wedding expenses.
Since then, I've had difficulty finding time to exercise on my own. No motivating factor I guess? But I always had reasons not to exercise. After our wedding, Gin and I enrolled in this gym near our house. But we didnt get to use it. Either I am too lazy or just dead tired! As a result sad to say I started gaining weight and same goes with Gin. For one, we both love to eat and with no excercise its but natural to gain back all the weight we lost. There were a few attempts to do those home video excercises (Hip Hop Abs) but I wasnt able to pursue it. I was trying to find a quick fix. My sister in law that time was taking this Chinese diet pill and she really lost weight. I said to myself "why not give it a try?" So I did! Man..I hated the side effects! I was getting cold sweats, pulpitations and I'd go to the bathroom frequently. I threw the damn pills away. It was a desperate move to lose weight --- never again!
One diet secret that worked for me (not really a secret) is the after 6 and no rice. I kind of lost weight doing that. But its still different if you combine it with excercise. That is really the key! Thinking of other ways on how to lose weight, I finally found something that works which I knew all along I just didnt have the will power to do it! There is this article online thats talks about it and here it is:
Keep It Simple, Keep It Off
Keeping is simple is the best way to not only lose weight, but keep it off, too. There are some clear-cut certainties, rules, unchanging facts and formulas regarding weight loss that really never vary. If followed, you will lose weight.
So, for just a moment let’s look only at the facts - take emotion, psychology, and personal history out of the equation, and let’s look at the simple rules of weight loss.
Just the Facts:
1. If you spend more calories than you take in, you will lose weight. Just like your bank account, if you spend more than you put in, your bank account or, in this case your body, will shrink.
2. Adding (more) exercise, and not changing your diet at all, will cause weight loss only if you are burning more calories than you are taking in (as it states in rule 1). So if you are exercising enough to push the equation over to the deficit column (where you are basically in the red with calories - spending more than you are taking in), then you will begin to lose weight.
3. Reducing your food/caloric intake and not adding exercise will result in weight loss only if you have reduced food intake enough to tip the energy balance to the negative, whereby you are taking in less than you are expending.
4. Obviously, adding exercise, and reducing your caloric intake, will make it more likely that your equation will swing over to the negative – the weight loss side. And of course, the greater the difference between intake and expenditure, the faster the weight loss (or gain, depending on which way the equation swings).
To maximize your health and weight loss benefits, add exercise and reduce food intake.
I am not belittling the difficulty of losing weight, but there is a kind of simplicity to the plain facts. Still, few of us, if any, are able to be totally objective and mathematical about weight loss.
We have managed (or our society has) to make our bodies and our weight, emotional and social and psychological subjects, making it tough to take weight off simply, and harder to keep it off. And believe me, I understand, I am no different from you.
But I do realize one thing: Whether you are agonizing over losing 2 lbs or 200 lbs, looking at weight loss as a formula can provide you with some simple, practical, and effective steps that can be taken. And just knowing that this formula is fact, and works, just looking at the black and white of it and seeing that there are absolute and realistic steps that will lead to weight loss, may help someone, maybe you, who is struggling with body issues and weight loss.
So if you can, even for a brief period of time, separate out the discomfort, frustration, personal reasoning, and self resentment from prior attempts at weight loss that have failed, you may find the objective willingness to just keep moving forward in the equation – taking out a few calories here, adding a little exercise there, and so on – until the weight starts to fall away. And it will, if you stick to the rules.
I hope this helps you stay, or get back on, your road to better fitness.
Since then, I've had difficulty finding time to exercise on my own. No motivating factor I guess? But I always had reasons not to exercise.
